    Blaithin, I am a pretty cruddy photographer myself, but I have a friend who is AMAZING! I might be a teeny bit biased. I sent her a link to your blog post, but she's a busy woman (photographer, mom of two, general super woman) so my e-mail might go on her mental checklist and then be knocked off by whatever tomorrow brings her. So...please check her out:

    The obvious choice is to shop around for the best rates, but consider hiring a photographer for the ceremony only and ask a family member or friend to take snap photos of the reception. Or you could go one step further and ask them to take the photographs for the whole day and not bother with the expense of a photographer at all.
